Group Medicare

What is a Medicare Group EGWP?

EGWP’s or Employer Group Waiver Plans are Medicare Advantage plans offered by employers or unions to their retirees and/or Medicare primary eligible members. The plans are provided and managed by private insurance companies. These plans are exempt from certain rules that apply to individual Medicare Advantage plans which allow employers more flexibility with enrollment periods, premiums and marketing.

Why Medicare Group EGWP?

Employer groups can provide continued support for retirees and/or Medicare primary eligible employees who transition to Medicare as their primary coverage through group Medicare plans. By integrating Original Medicare Part A and Part B benefits into an inclusive Medicare group plan, there’s savings potential for all involved. Plus, there are plan options that are designed with plenty of perks and programs to help members with their health goals.

As healthcare costs increase, employers of all sizes are turning to Medicare Advantage Employer Group Waiver Plans (MA-EGWPs) to maintain or improve coverage for beneficiaries while reducing both short-term expenses and long-term financial liabilities.
